About Me

Hi there!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Joey...no, that's not short for anything. {I get asked that a lot!} I was the youngest of four daughters, so I guess you could say that I'm the junior of my family, since I'm named after my father. He's a pretty cool guy, so that's okay with me!

I have been teaching in a classroom since 2007. I started in first grade, but after having my first kiddo, I quickly realized that I needed something that wasn't so tiring! Hats off to all of my K-1 teacher friends...you rock! I am happily teaching in fifth grade, and I have no plans of leaving.

Our fifth grade became departmentalized a few years ago, and I have been teaching ELA, and only ELA for the last three years. I LOVE IT! Yes, I'm that nerdy girl who truly gets excited about going to school and teaching her students...guilty as charged.

Outside of school, I'm a momma to three amazing girls who keep me on my feet! I'm married to an amazing guy that I have literally known my entire life. Believe it or not, you guys...I truly married the boy next door. We live in the country...and we like it that way. I'm definitely not a city girl...UNLESS it's for a date night, then we head into the city, and we both love it!

I have been a teacher author on TpT since 2013. Starting my own shop has changed my life...and I feel so blessed to be a part of a much bigger teaching community now that I collaborate with teachers worldwide on a daily basis. I learn so much from all of you, and I hope that I can also share a few things with everyone along the way, as well!

This picture just about sums it up. There's no rest for the weary! I am blessed with a crazy schedule, and I wouldn't change that for the world!

Thanks again for stopping by! Be sure to look around and to follow me for some awesome things I have coming in the near future. You DON'T want to miss it!
